Mike,

Actually my interest in the article was the 39% increase in VOD use when advertised on the TV Guide Channel.

But as for VOD, satellite cannot do it because it does not have the two way interactivity, to my understanding, it is more of a point to multi-point service whereas cable can be a point to point. Satellite cannot accurate beam down a separate stream to each satellite receiver, whereas cable can customize its delivery to your home, as they do with Cable modems. If there is a way that satellite can practically do this, I'm not familiar with it.

VOD does work here on Comcast. We have the PPV that you are talking about and the VOD when you can play the movie at any time during a 24 hour window, and can fast forward, rewind, pause, stop, et al. It does crack up from time to time, infrastructure still needs improvement, and I'd like more selections, we get about 30-50 or so movies to choose from at a time. Also have other VOD from other sources like Showtime, HBO, et al, if you subscribe to those services or from other channels as well.
