I have no objection. But this is nothing but wishful thinking --> "the Iraqis would prefer them any day over the US. " This is the meme you guys repeat to one another - that its the US only that is hated and only because of Bush. Remember the UN mission in Iraq was bombed (and the bombing was announced as revenge for helping E Timor become independent from Muslim Indonesia). Islamist bombings have taken place in recent years in Spain (a bombing attempt was recently made AFTER the country announced it would pull out of Iraq), Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Russia, India, China, and Indonesia - just to list a few things off the top of my head. And the US was a target long long ago when Bush wasn't on the horizon. The idea that the US and Bush is the problem is a pipe-dream.
