The situation in Iraq continues to spiral out of control. Not only are casualties at the highest daily rate since the war began in March 2003 (six per day), now many segments of Iraq who were one supportive of the U.S.-created Coalition Provisional Authority are turning against the U.S. military. For example, the U.S.-trained Iraqi military and police refuse to attack fellow Iraqis in Falluja, where 600 Iraqi rebels and civilians have been killed this past week.
