It's very strange. I hear increasingly pessimistic talk about Iraq (Joel Klein says that no one in Washington has any optimism left) but it's very unclear what the heck is really going on.

Sometimes it sounds as if half the country is on fire but the rest of them time it sounds like order is being slowly restored. I wonder if it's this confused in Iraq.
