There was information. Whether or not one acts on it is another matter - a Bin Ladin strike in US imminent, indications they will be hijacking planes. Now, if you were president, would you come back to White House and order tighter airport security, ask frequent reports of what measures are being taken, etc OR would you have a month-long vacation playing golf and fixing stuff on your ranch?

You're making a lot out of nothing

Me, I couldn't care less. It is the 9/11 commission that seems to think the memo in question is important, and so is the Bush administration's inaction in the weeks following it. It is the 9/11 commission that brought it up and asked for it to be declassified. You might not think it is relevant. They clearly do.
