re. "With only two journalists there that I'd read and heard reports from, I felt pulled to go and witness the atrocities that were surely being committed."

Your response was

So much for objective journalism.....

If there had been no journalists, perhaps your comment would have been warranted, but only perhaps. When an assault like Fallujah occurs, atrocities take place. It's called war. But because the journalists in Fallujah were able to send out pictures, there was little doubt left. Why do you think the American commanders major demand at the cease fire negotiations, was the expulsion of the TV journalists.?

None of the enlisted men, NCOs nor officers I know from the US military would knowingly participate in a slaughter of innocents....

I suppose it was Iraqis that shot ambulance drivers, and their own women and children. The bullet holes are there. Someone pulled the trigger. Your thesis lacks credulity, and you know it. I find it disturbing to contemplate that Americans, in my name, are doing these things. I suspect many others feel the same way. I also suspect this is why the prro-war lobby screams so loudly in denial, and the CPA wants to eliminate the proof by silencing the messengers.
