You're giving Clarke more credit than he deserves.
This morning Louis Freeh testified that Clarke was never one of those present when he met with Sandy Berger. Apparently, Clarke is somewhat a legend in his own mind. He implied he was included in all important intelligence meetings in Clinton WH. Evidently, that statement was not entirely true. He gave impressive testimony to 9/11 Commission; however, he obviously had an
"ax to grind" with Condoleeza Rice.
