Interesting, you go right back to the "criticism/dissent is not traitorous" defense and then try to manipulate Bill (once again).

Bill works very hard to make certain we don't call criticism traitorous. You need to talk with Bill about this series of posts.

My entire point was that Byrd/Kennedy's Vietnam comments were irresponsible enough not to merit the criticism/dissent defense.

Of course, I have never even suggested that this should be illegal - just that they need to be called on it.

Do I think it is a betrayal? Of the First Amendment, no. Of the spirit of the First Amendment, sure. Of the soldiers fighting and dying in Iraq, definitely.

Too bad your "folk" lack the intellectual courage to call the Kennedy/Byrd statements "bad form".
