"Bush is the first President in the history of this country to generate global animosity towards American imperialism."

I've heard that before. From neighbor kids oblivious to world history.

I live in a military town, San Diego. My epiphany was witnessing a woman trying to maneuver a massive Chevy Tahoe into a "compact cars only" parking spot for the sole intent to avoid as much exercise as possible.

As the sole occupant of the vehicle waddled her ample girth out of the front seat, I noticed two bumper stickers:

Support our Troops!

My Son is a Marine

One of many fundamental problems with the United States of America is that we are focused on our entitlements.

Admit it.

We are "entitled" to cheap energy. Soccer moms have to own the biggest death-machine in their PTA even if it means working two jobs to pay for it.

With Spain proving terrorism works wildly better than advertised, I need to keep my gas tank topped in October and November.

Our reliance on foreign oil is growing 5% a year. Sure, we could drill the Alaska refuge and in ten years when the pipelines are completed, our current rate of consumption will drain it of all [economically-feasable to pump] oil in 6 months.

The US sits on 2% of the world's total crude oil reserves and with only 5% of the world's population, account for 26% of its oil consumption and rising.

So, you sacrificed fuel efficiency for "safety"? Well, you deserve a Ford F150 then.

Your chances of surviving in the most popular domestic vehicle sold in the US, the Ford F-150 pickup, are one in three.

Funny how Compacts defy their "death trap" nickname.

Warning. Actual statistics dead ahead.

Look, the reality is our satisfaction with our elected officials is directly linked to our comfort level with our utility bills and our economic and political stability is inexorably linked to the middle east.

"This has limited our ability to assault other countries, and I thank him."

Oh yeah, those economic sanctions against Libya and Iraq worked great!!!

Look, while you were driving around in a vehicle larger than my California-sized livingroom multitasking with crash avoidance and a cell phone sporting three different mental health therapists on speed-dial and a roll of paper towels (to wipe up all the Diet Coke and/or double-foam lattes spilled after running over a pebble at 65 and nearly flipping over), Hussein's family was living in one of their many opulant, oh, I don't know, call them "Palaces", while feeding political dissidents into wood chippers while their starving families watched.

Feet first.

Sure, we could have continued this watchful vigil with UN for Saddam and his family to leave.

In fantasyland.

In the meantime, you need to realize how insignificant our failure to locate actual WMD's in Iraq really is, a country that fits well inside the borders of the state of California. A vial of anthrax the size of that pole stuck up your backside can kill even more than 9/11 and be so much more difficult to locate in all that sand.

Now, is Kerry the man for the job?

I know just enough about politics and economics to be dangerous. So, lets delve further into why I should vote for Kerry.

"Its the Deficit, Stupid!"

The pairing of words like "economic growth" and "Bill Clinton" in the same sentence invokes nausea as WebVan.com and PriceLine.com had no reason to exist, let alone blow millions on superbowl ads. But, since I can't go back in time and exile the creators of CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and the WSJ to a desert island, we are stuck with 20-20 vision and James Carville.

The bigger, underlying issue, is the value strength in our government assets and income backing up loans.

Tell me how Democrats can foster Economic growth.

If Liberal Democrats makes it a moot point whether we work or not, we are back in the Grey Davis boat with his liberal legislature.

Kerry's promise to make Iraq a multi-national project doesn't fly with me. I AM NOT CONFIDENT the UN can do a better job. The Iraqi guerillas with guns and bombs are not demonstrating discrimination based on country of origin.

What if your combined arrogance fueled by our liberal media is the reason why the world hates Americans?
