This must be the week for CD issues.

I have Win XP Pro, loaded Toshiba laptop, plenty of RAM, high end, combo cd-R,DVD-R writer.

When trying to write data to CD-R, using the Windows program, the program starts, and then suffers a massive shut down. First the task bar disappears, then other programs close, and then the Windows write to CD program closes.

Haven't done anything major new to the computer. Tried the usual tests, scan, defrag, NAV, Pest Patrol, Sytem Restore. I don't run a lot of stuff on start up and prune. Don't download programs or music.

Must be a setting that I hit in terms of resources.

Any advice?
