Well FL...

I sat. I saw. I floundered.

The day started with concern over the possibility that we may never again have a President who can conduct a public conversation.

It appears doomed to end with a concern that we just might be better off asking the British to take us back into the Commonwealth.

I am depressed. ...Hopefully the Joint Chiefs didn't witness this evenings doings. Frankly I can't see how they could avoid giving at least passing consideration to initiation of a coup. ...Then again, it's pretty clear we don't have enough troops to control Congress, much less the entire District of Columbia, so we probably won't have to face that threat.

When he got off the chopper this morning he looked like he didn't want to be President. At the "press punishment" tonight, to my ear, he sounded like he doesn't want to be President.

Something is wrong. Something we don't know about yet. Something so bad that neither Stockman nor Carl have been able to find a link for it. If this was a "war speech," then I'll be a baboon's uncle. For the life of me, I couldn't see any different level of commitment, anger, or determination than he showed when talking about his tax cut proposals.

The arm's not tied behind his back. I think he's actually cut it off. ...Or maybe Rumsfeld has it... I don't know. I just don't know.
