The flimsy pretext of "hunting down Bin Laden" would have been too weak... and then, think of the diplomatic momentum that has been necessary to secure a proper geopolitical alliance --911 proved to be the silver bullet to solve all these "hurdles". However, 911 was a false-flag overkill --somehow, its perpetrators overshot and turned a regular hijack scheme into a cataclysmic bloodshed.... And I feel that Mossad operatives who participated in that hijack scheme were responsible for that bloody escalation and screwed US intelligence.... The last 911 "dress rehearsal" () was just another step in the deception of US intelligence: the Ariana jetliner landed "peacefully" in London --it didn't crash on Big Ben! Well, 911 was supposed to be just the same: several planes hijacked by ugly Taliban and eventually assaulted by FBI SWAT teams --enough to stir US opinion into a mop-up of Afghanistan by US troops.... Yet NOT enough to keep the ball rolling up against Iraq! Hence my suspicion that Israeli agents (inside and outside US intelligence) wanted to kill two birds with a single cointelpro sting: all they had to do was to change the cast and replace the "London/Ariana" hijackers with high-octane terrorists --and kill their "commander-in-chief" Massoud to drive them mad.... The purpose was to make sure that the resulting terrorist bloodshed would get enough momentum to swell the US's initial outrage against Afghanistan into a crusade for regime change in Iraq --or at least to clinch a hookup with Israel's own war.
