Locally, Democratic registration is running well above 2000 levels. The Party is registering new voters and must accept the registrations of any who apply. 60% are registering Democratic and only 10% registering Republican in a county where the overall voter registration is 43% Republican, 33% Democratic and the rest Independent or Third Party.

I'm thinking about a delightful bout of masochism, getting the voting roles of Republicans in the fancier districts of the County and calling on them individually at their front doors and asking them to consider that they are probably too embarrassed to stay in the GHP, the Gross Hypocrisy Party....... and wouldn't they like to take a moment for a simple re-registration as an Independent or a Democrat? Just to send George Bush a message. <g>

I think the tactic might have some merit.
