I think a big part of the reason why it has proven impossible to attack islamic terrorism with anything that resembles logic and reason is that a lot of Americans soiled their pants on 9/11 and never recovered from the experience. These people have been in constant fear for two and a half years, as if an axe has been poised above their necks the entire time. They really need psychiatric help to overcome this, but I doubt they will ever seek it. I guess that is what the terrorists wanted, is to make Americans live their entire lives in fear, and for a minority of the population, they have succeeded.
