I looked at my post again, and nowhere does it say nor imply that you are lying. Fwiw, the thought has not crossed my mind.
Rather, I find your view naive and lacking a bit in knowledge about the ME, generally the same overall lines spoon-fed to the American nation through the likes of Fox TV - you know, stuff like "They hate us because we are free/beautiful/successful/rich etc", "They teach their children hate", "It's just a couple of Saddam die-hards opposing us, and the rest of the nice Iraqis actually love us" etc etc...
These mainstream falsehoods keep you guys from seeing the situation for what it is and taking the necessary steps accordingly. That is very dangerous. They give you the false sense that if only you eliminate a couple of these "terrorists", the rest of Iraq will be a democracy in time for November elections. Or something.
If I say something it is what I really believe but I will also admit when I am wrong.
OK then, let's take a look at the people who have been giving US troops all this heartache over the past week or so - Shiite followers of Al-Sadr. You seem to be thinking that the problems in Iraq, the military resistance, is being caused by "Saddam's followers". Do you see why Al-Sadr's Shiite followers currently up in arms against US forces do not qualify as "Saddam's followers"?
Hints: (1) Shiites were the oppressed majority in Saddam's Iraq, and (2) Al-Sadr's own father was killed by Saddam a couple of years ago. |
