Being successful in one format (books) doesn't guarantee success in radio. That is why Franken et al cannot keep the show going for long. I can think of two folks -- Bernie Ward and Ray Taliaferro (of KGO, SF) who can do the show day after day after day and make it a success. Unlike Rush Limbaugh, they are not afraid of fielding questions from callers who have the opposite point of view.
