REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 2004-- Advanced Digital Information Corporation (Nasdaq:ADIC), leading supplier of intelligent storage solutions for the open systems market, announced today that it has finalized a distribution agreement with Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL). Under terms of the agreement, TEL will act as the master distributor for the entire line of ADIC automated tape libraries and Pathlight VX disk-to-tape backup solutions throughout Japan. TEL, one of the leading suppliers of semiconductor production equipment and electronics components, has expanded its business to also become one of the primary international distributors of servers, networking, security, and data protection products. The company's Computer Network Division has been in the forefront of providing Fibre Channel Storage Area Networking (SAN) solutions for a wide variety of the largest commercial companies in Japan, as well as for government agencies, research facilities, and value-added resellers serving the indirect sales channel. TEL represents a significant number of the leading suppliers of SAN-based data protection products in Japan, including Brocade Communications, Veritas Software, Emulex Corporation and HP.
