Ah yes but don't you see it makes him seem just like plain folks? I don't. I'd never insult plain folk like that. I'm not even sure that the American people want a plain folk as President. I think there's been an active advertising campaign telling the people that's what they want, but I'm sure that's really what they want. I think what people want, is to believe the President understands them or connects with them in some manner. What package you put that in isn't all that important. If you were to say that... I can't understand how families earning less than $200,000 per year can make ends meet I don't care how you deliver it [plain folk or not] the people are not going to believe that you understand their problems. Or look at JFK [and Jackie]. Damn good looking couple with some really cute kids. Plain folk? Is anyone in the Kennedy family viewed as plain folk? Some President's have had an ability to connect with the people, we try to qualify it, explain it but it seems to be more luck than design. JFK had it and historically keeps it, because he went and died. And our vision of that First Family is frozen in November 1963. Reagan had it, Clinton had it. That's why they both had two terms. jttmab
