Speaking of the 9/11 Commission -- I've been busy lately with this and that so mostly tune into this mostly while in the car. Today I was listening to a press conference with the Chairman and Vice Chairman and it seems to me that where they are going to wind up won't be as partisan as the questioning by the individuals. They'll need to reach a consensus. That is, unless they issue two reports, one by the Republicans and one by the Democrats, which I don't think would offer much of value.

One thing it seems that they will probably all agree on is that "The Wall" between FBI and CIA, between domestic and foreign intelligence gathering, probably contributed to 9/11.

I did not hear much of Ashcroft's testimony yesterday, and have skipped the news, too, so was surprised to learn that Gorelick was in large part an architect of "The Wall." Apparently Ashcroft suggested that she had a conflict of interest? And the Chairman said she recuses herself when she does have a conflict of interest.

BTW - I think the Drudge event you are thinking of was the woman intern Kerry was supposed to have had an affair with. Although Drudge ran with it, he wasn't the first to report it. And yes, I did have fun with that. But it's not serious enough to withhold judgment on, at least not to me. I've been quite skeptical of serious things alleged. Politicians getting strange poontang is nothing, at least not by Louisiana standards.
