bush has said he doesn't "know how poor people think". I haven't a clue how he thinks, but he certainly seemed in over his head yesterday trying to field those questions. I've only seen Kerry being quizzed once on the Today show. He obviously had no advance warning of the questions he'd be asked. The questions covered a broad spectrum of issues, and he answered them with specifics.

Maybe Bush had decided he needed to come forward to quell the incompetence talk and suggestion his administration failed during 9/11. Perhaps he thought his speech prior to the Press Conference would answer the questions. Perhaps he thought God would speak through him, for him. He tried the Condi tack of rephrasing the question, answering questions that hadn't been asked. Finally he admitted he's not very good at answering questions. Which of course leads back to the bad decisions he made that make people question his actions.
