FWIW

I discovered the problem I had with the Windows Update failing. I tried opening Media Player 9 and was presented with an error message about a failed install. Wish I had written it down but it said something about a wrong version number. I went back to Microsoft and tried downloading the player from the Windows Media site and that was going slow as well. Finally found another download page at Microsoft and the correct media player downloaded and installed properly. I guess Windows Update incorrectly identified my Media Player the first time. I'll never really know.
