That "vet's wife" is a big liar. Atrocities in Vietnam were very real, very common and became almost the norm after 1968 when the whole war and country was going nutso.

This lady blames the messenger, but she forgets Kerry had earned the right to alert the country, and that he was trying to save the lives of our troops, so that more brothers in arms need not die for a lie.

The whole rightwing vet attitude that Kerry somehow insulted the troops is ridiculous. for one thing, Kery's accusations were aimed only at the top brass and DC policy-makers who had let things get so nuts to begin with. Now we know for instance that the CIA's Phoenix Program stressed the need assassinations with a strong terror element to them. SEALS used in Phoenix were instructed to cut off heads of their victims because Busshistys believe a headless corpse can no longer be reincarnated. Of course no one likes to know about this, but it's all perfectly true.
