Two boys were playing basketball on a South Boston playground when one was attacked by a rabid rottweiler. Reacting quickly, the other boy ripped a board off a nearby fence, wedged it into the dog's collar, and with a sharp twist, broke the dog's neck and saved his friend's life.
A newspaper reporter from the Boston Globe happened to see it all and rushed over to interview the young hero.
The reporter began writing the story on his laptop right there on the spot, beginning with the headline, Brave Young Celtics Fan Saves Friend From Jaws Of Vicious Animal.
"But I'm not a Celtics fan," the lad interjected. "Sorry about that, replied the reporter, I just figured you were, since we're in Boston."
Hitting the delete key, the reporter started over with, Young Kerry Fan...
"But I'm not a Kerry fan either," the boy responded. "I assumed everybody in Massachusetts is either for the Celtics or Kerry. Who do you like?"
"I'm a Houston Rockets fan and I really like the president," the boy said.
Hitting the delete key again, the reporter began, Arrogant Little Bastard Murders Beloved Family Pet. |
