Which was that the problem with the electoral college is that it estranges voters who would otherwise be engaged.

This is a concept that only "insiders" like us are aware of, Karen. I could not possibly affect the outcome of the National elections here in Hawaii, a state so Liberal it makes NY look moderate. It last voted Republican in 1956. Will I vote? TWT. The average citizen does not take this into account, one way or the other.
