As i've told you before, i think people should pay federal taxes (all federal taxes) approximately in proportion to how much of the nation's wealth they own.

I'm not saying let's scrap the tax system in favor of a wealth tax (i have no idea if that would be practical or efficient), i'm saying that's how we can measure how fair the tax distribution is.

So, the bottom 40% own .2% of the nation's wealth. They should be paying around .2% of the federal taxes.

The top 1% own 38% of the wealth, they should be paying about 38% of the federal taxes. The top 10% have 71% of the wealth and ought to be paying 71% of the taxes.

And so on...
