I'm not saying let's scrap the tax system in favor of a wealth tax (i have no idea if that would be practical or efficient), i'm saying that's how we can measure how fair the tax distribution is. So, the bottom 40% own .2% of the nation's wealth. They should be paying around .2% of the federal taxes. The top 1% own 38% of the wealth, they should be paying about 38% of the federal taxes. The top 10% have 71% of the wealth and ought to be paying 71% of the taxes. And so on... Steve Dietrich
