It seems that Oracle is gaining market share in database revenue on IBM.

I derived this opinion by comparing the year-over-year percentage increases in database software revenue from the last earnings release. It's impressive considering that versions of Oracle's 10G database hit the market in January and March of this year which indicates the very beginning of its life cycle. I'm assuming that IBM tried to allocate the maximum revenue dollars to its DB2 database considering its package deals.
