Walter, You may be right - but it is difficult to figure out in many cases if someone else is making the chips or just how good the new silicon is. The long ramp seemed to be predicated mostly on interop issues and that same issue was the basis for one of the famous lost deals that we discussed early on this thread. I think there is also some concern that IT spending by businesses has not picked up as expected. I thought it was more than a little ironic that the FBI had an IT system in the late 90's that was text based, that their agents were using technology that was two generations old, and that most lacked the ability to transmit an image over the internet - per recent 9-11 Commission hearings. At about the same time - we were wondering what the next big government application for fibre channel was going to be. George D.
