Clarke said the White House Chief (or State) gave him a call to let Bin Laudens go, then and only then did he call the FBI. They couldn't think of any reason to counter-mand the White House no matter how outrageous the demand. You don't refuse an order from Andy Card in this circumstance unless you want to resign. Quit trying to change rock solid facts into confusion. The White House or Sec Of State needs to explain this under oath. Lying about it will not make it go away.
