Interdigital (NASDAQ:IDCC) shares traded down when the company missed earnings. The company reported increased expenses in addition to shortfalls in licensing royalties. NEC licensee had some significant problems with the software of their licensed 3G phones. Shipment delays meant missed opportunities for NEC and royalty shortfalls to the company. Arbitration with Nokia and Samsung has seen little progress and added to expenses. The date for expected resolution of the Nokia arbitration has also slipped several months.
