that is a good point. PC users who have purchased a pentium machine can now upgrade to 6th generation with MMX and get performance that is in line with intels most advanced chip. all they have to do is pull the pentium out and put a k6 in.

intels greed is going to hurt it. this new slot architecture is good in that it improves system performance, and it will be good for servers, but the bottom line with most users is price price price. the low end always dominates the high end. there is a lesson in that for apple, IMHO.
