I can trace the name but not all the individual generations --When I started to sort through all the info and letters I had, I went to the LDS and the Public Library and got a "Family Group Sheet" and a "Pedigree Sheet"...This last one is like a road map for me. This sorts out what you know from the spaces you need to fill. You may only know a first or last name in one of the slots. Everything is OK, as long as it is something you can document. If it is something I "think" but don't know FOR SURE, I Use (xxx) around each name or event, and have that in my key to the piece. For each known name, place, etc, I make sure that each has a reference name (i.e. birth cc, or census year, and page and state/county, or family bible, etc)
