You will have fun collecting the info for all your life. Genealogy is really an amazing hobby. Makes every single locale in the country where the people were very interesting...and the history of the times they lived as well. I do several programs on some of the things I've found over the years...

See if any of your living relatives have any letters they have kept from family members over the years. Also, photos, especially old ones, give you a lot of clues. The bottom of the old photos usually tell you the studio, and the location, sometimes the address and city. To identify for sure one of my old pictures, I wrote to the nearest library in that state, and asked if they could confirm the dates that studio was in business. Turns out the studio had three owners, and had different names for each owner...The library had the owners names, and the dates each was in business. I could identify my photo within 6 years because of this.
