mark-

here is what it comes down to. i remember my mother and father having a debate in 1986 on which computer to buy. we had a trash80(mine) and an apple IIE. we went with 286 instead of the mac. my mother hated the idea because she saw what apple was doing in the educational market, while my father saw what was happening in the business market. in the early to mid eighties, many people in business had apple machines, now few do. MSFT targeted business and apple went after education.

this is all academic. the 150 million settlement with MSFT was dumb, period. now, what shoudl they do? i think they should steal the NT kernel and make win32 work on a mac. then, let MSFT sue them and fight a lawsuit for ten years.

good luck to all,
trey
