Popularity does not necessarily equate with quality.

I have not driven the new Ford F-150 and don't know anyone who has one. The real test will be how many recalls they have (The Ford Escape was a hot little SUV that had numerous recall problems). Chevy Suburbans are also highly popular. Doesn't mean they are of the same quality as a Toyota Landcruiser or a Toyota Sequoia.
