From my perspective,

1. Dell beat its "actual" earnings estimate by five cents. In reality, regardless of whisper numbers when a company comes in three cents or more above the actual earnings then the street is not disappointed.

2. As far as I know, there was not a lot of whisper number stuff on DELL until yesterday and today because DELL has been quiet and not puffing up expectations this quarter. I don't think the whisper numbers for DELL mean that much.

3. While this is unsupported at this point, and we must wait to see numbers, it appears from some posters on the DELL thread that DELL may now be playing the deferred earnings game that MSFT does so well. It may be that DELL in fact made .66 this quarter and not .59

4. I expect DELL to do well tomorrow and the rest of the techs as well. I expect to see DELL close at $90 or more tomorrow.
