i'm having a problem understanding why Lidakol will have to be a prescription only drug given the fact that n-docosonal (the active ingredient) is not only non-toxic but also not mutagenic. Competing anti-virals have mutagenic properties and as such are considered to require physician supervision in their use.

it seems to me that Lidak would be able to sell it over the counter and make millions - just like selling chapstick

someone straighten me out on this and why they need a doctor in the loop.
