Maurice - You really are quite ignorant of energy markets and the effects of the marginal barrel of oil. Of course economic laws would apply with the loss of oil. The consequences would be dramatically different this time as Iraqi oil is essential today for a stable oil price and the global reliance on Iraqi oil will be growing exponentially each year going forward. Spend some time reading Big Dogs Boom Boom Room and learn more about energy as it will dominant consideration for the USA's policy agenda going forward.
