I am afraid I do not see any clear trend, either way. I was guessing, and I was wrong. But the spike in fatalities is associated with a new campaign to settle with insurgents, which may or may not work, but, if it works, will lead to an improved security situation. Thus, it is a mistake to deem it a trend, when it is a unique crisis point, like a spiked fever which may well signal the turning point of an infection.
