Andrew, would it be too simplistic to say cut your losses quickly, and let your profit run. Perhaps set a loss limit at the time you're executed. This is especially significant when day trading. If you're not opposed to holding a trade that has moved against you, and if the fundamental are sound and in an upward trend line, there could be another go around.
It may sound a little cliche-ish but we all need to be reminded IMHO.
