a natural outcome of terrorism is oppression

Let's say the "kneejerk reaction". It doesn't work, though. Oppressed people tend to resort to more terrorism for revenge, rather becoming docile.

Besides, would you not agree that the occupation came before the terrorism? And that occupation, in itself, is oppression?

The Palestinian people suffer now because that is what their leaders desire.

Regardless of what their leaders desire, Palestinians suffer now because of the Israeli occupation, which is made possible by unconditional US support.

Israel tried to negotiate "land for peace" but that was unacceptable to the PA leadership

So if one plan is unacceptable, you should not try to see why it is unacceptable and work on a more acceptable one?

In fact, is it not true that there was a recent Geneva Accord where informal representatives from both sides agreed on a plan, to serve as a blueprint for another road map? The Palestinian negotiators there had Arafat's blessing. Sharon didn't seem too thrilled by the idea, though, and called the initiative "irresponsible" and completely dissed it.

Can you explain to me why, in a way that is consistent with your theory that Israel wants peace and all that?
