I refuse to blame bush for pre-9/11 but i also refuse to blame clinton and his admin. With 20/20 hindsight, we can determine what was done wrong and correct future policy for the better

I and a lot of other Liberals would like to join you on this. The chance that anyone would really have anticipated the diabolical low tech nature of the 9/11 attacks is very slim. I've likened it to a new breed of terrorist virus, and by the fourth hijacking and with the benefit of cell phones, the antibodies had already adjusted. (I'll bet there were even a few liberals among the brave souls on that plane.) And I think that anyone is so foolish to think that the same tactic would work again, would now find that an equally selfless bunch is on every plane ready to "roll".

But conservatives, who play the blame game as well as any, greeted the tragedy with such a cacophony of Clinton bashing that even the most sensible of us moderate/leftists enjoy watching these same Bushies squirm and twist slowly in the backfire of their own wind.

On one side you find conspiracies claiming that the commission is cover for a demonic Bush plot. On the other you have bombast that the whole point is win the election for Kerry. I'm not so naive to believe that there are only two sides...so where is the side asking what are the easy targets now and how do we protect the trains in time?
