Secure transactions are not what WAVE is about, IMO. The key to WAVE is the ability to process Micro-Payments. Anyone can buy product securly now using Visa, MC, etc. But no one is offering the ability to purchase items for $.05. WAVE can and even less.
The survival of the Internet, IMO is the ability to charge small amounts of money on simple things. Play elctronic games for $.25, search engine for $.01, listen to a song for $.05, etc. Start adding up those micro transactions and you are looking at a lot of money.
Also, in order for the consumer to use this technology to its fullist, the technology has to be inside their PC. No downloads, just point and click. Kinda liking spending change at the arcade.
If WAVE has a deal for 2,000,000 chips and can land more OEM,s then the key problem is solved. Instant distribution.
