Is there any convergence of views going on as far as you can see in europe between folks who were pro-iraq war and those who were anti? I can see the logic of leaving the cork in the bottle last year although i still would maintain that 9/11 + generally accepted WMD view would still get my vote. Having said that and now that the deed is done, it seems to be that US/Europe, lib/con views should converge some. A couple of ideas I have expressed depending on how the situation on the ground goes are as follows:
1. Heavy reliance on sistani. A "tolerant" sistani may be the only behind the scenes guy who can protect the interests of all three iraqi zones.
2. If sistani cant help control the triangle but helps pacify shiaas a two free zone solution with heavy military action in the sunni areas to finally defeat baathists, foreigners and terrorists. Possibly separate shiaa and kurd states in that scenario or at least self rule until middle iraq can be reintergrated into the mix.
