Actually I speak with tremendous knowledge of the subject matter.

Anyone who examined the author's work with an open mind would immediately grasp the fact that the author is viewing our tax system through a leftist prism, which colors everything he says.

If he looked at things objectively, he would know that the IRS audits of the "working poor" which he decries are the direct result of massive fraud involving the earned income credit.

For several years the US Treasury served as an ATM machine for fraudsters, who would simply file a false return claiming the EIC and cash the resulting government check a few weeks later.

In order to combat this fraud, the IRS began a program to monitor SSNs and claimed dependents more closely ... when there is a mismatch or a non-existent dependent claimed, it results in an "audit."
