The Softies are howling about this article: Message 20043115 The obvious response is that the "problem" only exists if one needs to use unsupported hardware. Given the vast range of hardware that Linux _does_ support, I doubt it will detract much from Linux' popularity. And there is hardware for which support in the current Windows edition is either sketchy or lacking, so the pot may be calling the kettle black. BTW, my attempt to post this response on the other thread led to the discovery that I had been excluded, so is responsible for the creation of this thread. JMHO. Charles Tutt (SM)
