What rational people really should fear: We really should think about this. All rational people here will know, with a little contemplation, that what we really need to fear in this country is extremism. Whether it's right wing zealots, left wing communists, muslim religious nuts, baptist bombers, or extremist libertarians for that matter. Extremists are always the ones who rationalize violence as the ONLY answer to the problems they feel are important. Usually they only have access to guns or bombs. What we really need to fear is when they get access to and control governments or large corporations for that matter. Notice on this thread there are those who constantly imply violence against those who disagree with them or implicitly sanction violence as the best solution to ALL problems. And then there are the moderates, either right or left, who would prefer democracy or persuasion. These are the true Americans. Moderate Americans detest violence, and avoid it as they can, but when they are ultimately pushed, as they were in WWII do not shy from a fight. These are the true Americans. It's pretty easy to see which are which here.
