Addi, I have been in and out of SUNW before, and have always made money on it. I participated in the last rally, to the 48 area.

No, I do not beleive that Sun can change the computing model. I beleive that there will be isolated areas that will move toward Java, and there is a possibility (I give it 50/50) that Java will eventually (5-10 years) become the predominent computing model.

But Sun's current prospects are NOT tied to Java. I am not playing Sun for a P/E expansion based on Java becoming the predominent computing model. My interest in Sun is solely based on their highly successful server business, which I beleive will continue to provide them with solid revenues and earnings.

As for when you will see large Java applications readily available, we are BOTH making projections. Neither one of us can legitimately make the statement that applications WILL be available by such-and-such a date.

I think you are being overly optimistic in the extreme. Java is NOT a magic bullet, and adoption of Java as a universal platform - if it ever happens, will take as long as language transitions in the past have taken - probably 5 to 10 years, rather than the several months you are hoping for.
