The Jesus archetype ....the common man creates a messiah out of hope and longing .

What of the prohet Isaiah ? Were there many Isaiahs or one ?

The "scholars" you would point to...now many believe there are at least two and many theorize there are actually three different Isaiahs or prophets we are reading when we open the Bible ...hence the phrase

"A prophet for all seasons "

There's Isaiah 1-39 , they believe is the original 8th century Isaiah from Jerusalem and full of warning and God's wrath for Israel and Judah ...and verses 40-66 scholars believe is another prophet living later in exile before Babylon's fall and the return from exile . And he speaks of deliverence and a return to the land and an ending to "The Wrath". This is called Deutero Isaiah .

Then the third "Trito" Isaiah emerges in verses 55-66 with changes in vocabulary and many theorizing this was written by a fifth century Judean after the return from Babylon to Jerusalem . Seems to be a prophet for all seasons , and lived an excedingly long time to be writing of such distant diverse events of several centuries.

So One Isaiah or three? One Jesus or many ? What would you theorize along with these Biblical Scholars ?
