Re -- cpq will buy the amd . they already buy the cyrx. Cpq can't do anyhting now..no k6's available. and Plant visits.

I am sure CPQ is evaluating the K6. As any company would. And they may use it should they see a way of making money. They already have the different price points covered. (799 and 999).

Besides they don't have IBM's manufacturing, CPQ can't get the same deal as IBM. Thus they will not be able to compete with IBM on the same systems on price. The K6 unlike the cyrix does not have the added value of reducing systems cost.

CPQ also has DELL, IBM, HWP and maintaining growth to worry about.

I suggest you study the industry before you come out with such boonie comments to support your claims.

What did you do at compaq again? and for how many years?
