There are some people out there giving him a bad rap over some SEC problems he had over Presstek inc. This guy is no Martha Stewart. He paid a fine and moved on with his life.

Mr. Howard, who is an engineering oriented, entrepreneurial businessman, has either started, acquired, or was a principal in 24 successful companies during his 50 plus years of business experience.
Mr. Howard has for many years been extremely active in numerous worthwhile charitable causes that are principally related to health and educational organizations. These philanthropic activities are conducted through the Robert Howard Philanthropic Foundation.
Currently he is active as the founder and chairman of a New Hampshire-based company started in 1984 under the name of Howtek inc. and now known as ICAD inc. In 1989 he started Presstek inc. His most recent endeavor in 2002 is a Tucson AZ based company named IONATRON inc.
Mr. Howard's business endeavors started in 1949 as a very early Manufacture of Television Sets. He is been engaging in Cable T.V.systems, Cable Equipment Manufacturing, Computer System Mfg., Computer Printer Mfg., and Digital Printing Press Mfg.. Some of his more notable inventions are as co-inventor with Dr. An Wang of what was known as the Wang computer, the Dot Matrix Printer, the Centronics Interface, the widely used Laser Printer in a joint venture with Canon inc., and On-Press Digital Printing. Currently his most recent endeavor is the development of a new Non-Lethal weapon system at Ionatron inc,
Mr. Howard's higher education started at Columbia University School of Engineering, and continued at the University of New Hampshire and MIT.
